Asanda Mpumzi Ndamase
Founder & Managing Director

Asanda was born in Kokstad situated in the Kwazulu-Natal Province. From a young age, he excelled in computer application technology and was obsessed with creating visual artifacts from observing objects around him. His earliest realization of the importance of design came when he built a working model of an electric train in the early years as a scholar. As time went by he chose to pursue a career in architecture in order to be an innovative creator of the spaces we inhabit. He completed a National Diploma in Architecture at the University of Johannesburg (UJ). By fulfilling a need to be a team player in the community he volunteered at the Ray Nkonyeni Municipality as a building inspector. This further honed his skills in the built-environment.
Asanda worked at various companies where he gained experience on a wide range of projects. Large scale projects like The Bedford Centre, Bulwer Art Centre and the Dundee KZN regional laundry as well as a number of residential projects ranging from affordable housing to high end luxury homes before founding his own company Mpumzi Constuction Design in 2018.
Asanda has a solid entrepreneurial background and thrives in projects that involve collaborating with all the different facets of the build-environment. His personal design philosophy is around the comfort, practicality and aesthetics of a building; and he is passionate about the future, believing that passion is what gives us purpose in life.
